Elin Marakatt lives in Idivuoma, a small village in northern Sweden. She also grew up there. She is a reindeer herder, writer and journalist and speaks Northern Sami. Today, Elin studies, among other things, literary studies at Umeå University. Vår i Sápmi and Kalas i Sápmi are her third and fourth children's books.
"I hope that the children will take part in life in Sápmi and learn new words in Sami. The most fun was seeing how the words came to life with Anna's pictures, and the hardest part was choosing which words to include!”
