Sofia Jensfelt grew up in Gothenburg and works as an art director. Together with Alexander Närtell, she has written the series Modern sagas. The idea for the books came to Sofia when she read an older version of Cinderella to her children. "This one needs to be renewed!" she thought, and asked Alexander if he wanted to join. So far, the duo has published Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood and Beauty & the Beast in a modern interpretation.
"Fundamentally, it is the same exciting stories, which we are working on and filling with new possibilities. At first Red Riding Hood felt easy to write about, it has mystery and is both scary and funny. But the more we worked on it, the more we needed to screw things up.
