Anna-Stina Svonni grew up in Jukkasjärvi in the Sami culture and has been drawing and painting all her life. Today she lives in Kiruna and is a project manager at the Sami Parliament's language centre. Spring in Sápmi and Fest i Sápmi are her first children's books.
"The most fun was being able to illustrate with inspiration from my own life; Sami people, animals and nature! I hope that the Sami children recognize themselves, and that children who are new to Sami become interested in our nature and culture in Sápmi!”
