Maija Hurme lives in Helsinki, Finland. When she is not illustrating children's books, she makes news graphics for Hufvudstadsbladet. In 2015, she received the State's prize for information dissemination for her illustrations in a book about the year's holidays and celebrations. At OLIKA, Maija has illustrated the books in the Tittaserien and Högtidsboken.
"To get inspiration for Titta skogen, my baby and I checked out the forest and the sea together to try to feel the atmosphere. And then we tasted cones! Nature is usually quite close, even for those who live in a city. But we need to be reminded to go outside the concrete.”
