"It was fun designing the dinosaurs themselves. Ever since I saw the movie Jurassic Park as a kid, I've liked dinosaurs, but I've never been commissioned to draw them before.”
"The hunt came about when my child and I talked about thieves and mothers. She firmly said that a thief cannot be a mother, because thieves are evil and mothers are good. I thought that was interesting. I continued to think about how mothers are portrayed in children's culture. The image of them is quite narrow, and I want to change that a bit. I also like when stories ask open-ended questions, instead of coming up with answers.”
