The knot

"Arrrgh pirates
Now we help each other
Ship ohoy comrades
We untie the knot on our boat"

Pirates use rope for many things. For example, to fasten things when there's a storm or when they have to moor their pirate ship on land. But sometimes there are knots on the ropes that can be difficult to untangle!

1. Start with all the children/pirates standing in a ring and closing their eyes. Then everyone should extend their hands towards the center of the ring and take a half step forward into the ring. No one is allowed to peep!

2. The pirates must now grab two hands so that everyone is holding each other's hands. Whistle or make a pirate whoop! Now the children can open their eyes.

3. The pirates task is to unravel the knot that has been formed by their arms but without letting go of anyone's hands. Take it easy and carefully and see if you can untie the knot?
