I can't sleep, even though it's night.
I think of what Mom said about a treasure:
a chest, full of gold and diamonds
and jewelry enough for all the homeless people!

We are looking for treasure is a book about homelessness and caring for each other. A picture book in rhyme, about a child who befriends a Roma beggar. The child's experiences and willingness to help lead to a series of questions for which the adults have no answers and which are processed in the child's imagination.
