A wonderfully crazy story in rhyme about taking care of each other, and seeing the good in everyone.

“Stop!” says Kivi. “Calm down for a moment.
We can't have a party without Monster Dog, can we?
The songs fall silent. The balloons pop.
All the relatives shiver so much that it looks like they are freezing.

The first book in the series, Kivi & Monsterhund, was published in 2012 and was Sweden's first children's book to use the word hen as a personal pronoun. OLIKA launched the book with a debate article written together with linguist Karin Milles. The debate that followed paved the way for a third pronoun, and in 2014 hen was included in the Swedish Academy's dictionary, and hen is now a common word in both writing and speech.

Now comes the sequel! For all of you who wondered where Monster Dog went, here is the exciting resolution.

What is DIFFERENT? ❤️

  • All pronouns in the book are he/she/it.
  • Pammers, folders, funny words that include more
  • Unruly, wild characters that will make you laugh
