Anneli Khayati lives in Årsta with her husband and three children. Her oldest daughter has a functional variation and when her daughter grew up, Anneli lacked books that portrayed functional variations in a positive way. Therefore, it was natural to create the character Vilma who uses a wheelchair, while it has been important that the focus of the story should be on the events and not on the wheelchair. It has also been important that the "problems" that may arise are instead turned into exciting adventures.
